Contact the Candidates: elections@preserveeagle.com There are three candidates running on the Preserve Eagle Platform: Saundra McDavid for Mayor and Al Shoushtarian and Michael Huffaker for City Council. Electing all three candidates will ensure the unified voice of the people is heard in the governance of our City and guarantee our votes on City Councilwill be sufficient to implement our vision to protect Eagle. We are seeking these positions in order to preserve Eagle, primarily by managing and planning growth. All of us have been approached by members of the Eagle community and asked to run for these offices, as our vision is shared by a great many people. There are ample opportunities to enhance the quality of life in our City. We would: - Improve lines of communication between ACHD, the Department of Transportation, Ada County, our residents, our developers and our neighboring cities. - Make land use decisions in the City of Eagle with a broader perspective on how those decisions will affect the rest of the Treasure Valley. - Ensure there are sufficient infrastructure and services like water, roads, schools and fire protection available to both the proposed development and the neighboring subdivisions prior to approving a development application. - Not expect our current residents to fund growth. - Work to create a consistent, reliable and predictable comprehensive plan which protects our open space. - Work to ensure our budget is appropriate for a growing city. - Provide more city sponsored activities which bring the community together. - Protect the needs of our senior citizens. - Work with the land owners and businesses to implement a workable solution to our downtown parking problem. - Provide a friendlier environment for businesses in our City. - Work to establish the trust between our city administration and our residents. - Research and implement a plan for flood prevention. We will bring the most balanced approach to accommodating the competing
interests of future growth with the concerns of existing Eagle citizens.
